Welcome back!

Dear parents/carers,

A very warm welcome back to Prospect! We were delighted to see all our students back in school and they have responded extremely positively to the measures in place to ensure the COVID-Secure status of the school and to keep all members of our school community safe.

We appreciate that this has been a significant change for our students, not least because many of them have not attended school since March. They have also returned to a school where many of our daily routines are different. We are committed to ensuring that we can deliver a high quality of teaching and learning in a safe environment, so we would appreciate your feedback on how the first week has gone, by completing this short survey here

Although we very much hope that all our students will be able to attend school, we do recognise that the absence procedures regarding COVID-19 are quite stringent and there may be times that students have to stay at home because they are isolating or quarantining. We are therefore ensuring that all resources from lessons are uploaded to MS Teams. We have now populated every class Team and students should be able to find their Teams and teachers. We will also be uploading all homework tasks to Teams, although we will continue to send notifications through ClassCharts.

We would urge all parents to download the ClassCharts App from App Store or Google Play. This will enable parents/carers to receive live-time information about attendance, rewards and consequences, as well as notifications when homework is set. Please note that we are no longer using MyEd or Show My Homework.

We would also like to remind all parents/carers to check their eligibility for Free School Meals. We are aware that there have been some issues with transferring this information, particularly for Year 7 students, so we ask all parents to recheck here to ensure that this information is accurate when students are in the canteen. We are hoping to complete all biometric scans next week so, if your child has not yet returned their consent form, please make sure they bring it in on Monday to give to their form tutor.

We are constantly reviewing our procedures around the school and will endeavour to keep you regularly updated with any changes. If you have any further feedback, I would be very happy to hear from you.

Warm regards,

Mr D Littlemore
